Since I have no photo-worthy knitting progress, I thought I'd introduce my socks. It's a small family of socks and I love them very much. This is my first sock, knit with Lana Grossa.
Meet sock #2 knit from Cherry Tree Hill Supersock in the Life's a Beach colorway. Coincidentally, I finished the second sock of this pair while down the shore (translation for those who don't speak NJ: while I was vacationing at the beach. Ocean Grove, NJ to be specific).
The third pair knit from Trekking XXL. Sock #1 I tried out the 2 circs method and went back to DPNs for sock #2.
In today's mail, I got my first shipment from the Spunky Sock Club and I got a skein of Fleece Artist Sea Wool sock yarn from Pick Up Sticks. Photos of the new yarn tomorrow and maybe an Argosy update.
MY FIRST YARN GIVE AWAY/CONTEST. I am floored by the number of comments I've received so far (93). Given the discussion that's been going on in blogland the past week about why people blog, etc., my give-away comes at a very timely , er. time. To be honest, I am not blogging for myself as a writing exercise or as a way to record my knitting. I started this blog a little over a month ago to become part of this awesome online knitting community and to meet new people. I was tired of standing on the sidelines. If I didn't have a regular posse of commenters and readers blogging wouldn't be as fun as it is. So, whoever is the 100th commenter will win sock yarn (what kind, I haven't decided) and if you're a non-knitting commenter (hello, Captain Betty and Carrie), I'll think of another prize. Bring it on!

I am checking out the mary janes (and the socks) must see argosy again ( no weird men talking about it though)

You and I share good taste in shoes for the black mary janes from earth. :-) What pattern are you using for your knee socks? I'm contemplating going long for socks but wonder if they'll fit properly.
I've been reading your blog for about a week or so. Probably started about the time of the blog/comment discussion. I don't remember where I found you but I wonder if it was in the comments on one of the discussions?

I have new Mary Jane sneakers that show off my socks so well, I'm going to buy another pair just to put away for when these wear out (to stave off the despair of them not making them anymore by then). Glad you're enjoying the blogging!

Pleased to meet you, socks. :-)

Cute socks (and shoes!). I recently decided if I can't rant on my blog, where can I rant?
I also started blogging to get in on this whole knitting community thing. They seemed to be having so much fun. ;-)

Your socks look adorable!

I'm so glad to see I'm not alone in starting a blog so that I could feel like I wasn't just standing on the side lines. I admit, I don't post but once or twice a week, but I'm not a very fast knitter, and there's not much to report on some days.
Oh, and the socks are great!!!

I love the shoes almost as much as the socks! :)

These socks and shoes remind me of doll legs, especially in the dashboard photo. I love the way these socks look but hate socks in real life because you have to match them and keep them together as a pair, and that's just so much work, especially with the kids. It can take me half a morning to find matching socks for both of them.
