Warning! This is a picture heavy post. In knit news, I bought 9 skeins of Blue Sky cotton (its soft and buttery) for the sweater. It's a deep gray. This sweater is destined to become one I will wear constantly. I picked up Argosy today and finished section one. Knitting progress photos tomorrow when the light is better.
Now for the weekly Friday Foto Fandango!!!
This was my view from the ferry on Wednesday morning. A gorgeous mild day. Wednesday, 3/14, was also my sister Plops' 38th birthday. Happy Birthday Plops!
Here is today. Snow and frozen rain. March's last hurrah. This is my town.
The awesome house above is Tim & Carrie's house. Tim's mother is an extraordinary spinner. I'd love to get my first spinning lesson from her.
The frozen lake, as seen from the train window. This is where we sometimes go swimming in the summer. We may not join the lake this summer as the bottom is gooshy and mucky and Liam got a leech on his ankle. GROSS!
Below is the ferry terminal. Very bleak today. The frozen rain hurt when it hit my face. The huddled corporate masses yearning to get home. You can barely make out the Brooklyn Heights skyline in the background.
I must've looked mighty strange walking home, holding a camera in my outstretched arm, taking bizarro photos of myself in the snow. The hat is Knit & Tonic's Le Slouch (free pattern in her side bar), but it turned out to be Le Not So Slouch. My gauge was off. Of course, the trusty Clappy is wrapped around my neck. I love you Clappy!
Almost home. My feet are frozen.
Buh-bye! Stay inside & knit!

Yeah, it looked cold. I remember the commute to NY and very happy at times like this that I don't have to make it. Very happy.
I love the houses so pretty. Especially Tim and Carrie's house.

I love the pictures, especially the ferry view on the nice day, and Tabor in the snow.
You went to work yesterday? I was home with both kids. really don't like snow days, except for that you don't have to rush to get ready for school or work. I feel guilty saying this since I feel I'm supposed to be a fun-loving mom who gets out there and laughingly builds snowmen, but instead I end up indoors, bitching at the kids for throwing juice boxes on the floor.
But hey--I should post this on my own blog!

Yeah, I was just as glad to have yesterday afternoon off and not have to be out in that . . . You know, other than playing with Chappy! Which, along with getting some spinning done, is about the extent of my plans for today, now that I've got my car cleaned off....
And, hey, you do know I have an Ashford Kiwi for sale, right? You know, if you really want to learn to spin?
